Why are my test results outrageously fast?
This is usually the result of something installed on your computer that is intercepting traffic between your web browser and the server. Examples of this would be security software from ZoneAlarm, McAfee or Symantec. Try momentarily disabling the software to see if it is the source of the problem. Make sure you don't leave it disabled! Any software firewall should work with Speedtest.net if configured properly.

He's situated in Glenanda. I was planning to take my laptop and dongle there this week to test the signal, but I guess he beat me to it.

I bought my black speed stick beginning of Feb. and for the last two weeks I'm experiencing extremely slow connection ( way under 1 mbps). it cannot be the area because the first week I had up to 7 mbps download speed and my signal strength is always around 98%. I'm really losing my cool now being frustrated every night having to wait 30 seconds just to load a simple google page.

anybody had the same experience? what do you recommend?

I'm off to buy my 12x5GB modem package this morning...
I read somewhere that there are 2 different USB modems available with the package - Should I insist on a specific one?

Johannesburg South Area - Speedtest ran on Neology.

Sitting at RSSI -93 dBm (This Morning)



with coupler and antenna
Sitting at RSSI -71 dBm previously was getting -83dBm before conducting the test



Still need to find the sweet spot of the base station.

Uniterm coupler and antenna works - happy to report that - improves RSSI roughly between 12 dBm - just take note that antenna was not mounted - will mount it later on today if mother nature doesn't come down.

the black one will be the one you want

the white one have 12x2Gb

of course the black one is more expensive...
