Here in Lyndhurst, Johannesburg connection remains un stable and this is all I get:

Your Latest Results

Test conducted on 01 July 2013 10:17:21 PM

Download Speed: 1778 kbps (222.3 KB/sec transfer rate)

Upload Speed: 31 kbps (3.9 KB/sec transfer rate)

Latency: 263 ms

Up load speed both local and internation is about the same as is the ping/latency number. Guess this is cell c problem rather than mweb who apparently do the international link.

Starting to think base level DSL not so bad.

You mean International faster than National :-)

Luck of the draw, guess if you did the test again it would be the other way around.

Exempli gratia: Vodacom

Local

Download Speed: 10094 kbps (1261.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 2199 kbps (274.9 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 82 ms

International

Download Speed: 13451 kbps (1681.4 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 2099 kbps (262.4 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 215 ms

That doesn't make sense, on Vodacom International data transfers faster than local data. That's a conundrum.

The links you posted showed faster local (8.8Mbps) than international (3.36Mbps). Your new speedtest results show the opposite though.

And why post Vodacom speed tests in the Cell C thread?

It was an example only. To showcase the difference between the two networks.

How come at Cape Town International Airport. According to their website their LTE coverage doesn't include the Airport. Am I missing something in their coverage area?

They've expanded their LTE coverage in Cape Town since they published those maps in December.
I can get LTE in Rondebosch and Clarement as well.

Very interesting .. I wonder if it really is worth me getting that launch promo, I'm in kenilworth. I just got a Giga200 on the weekend from Cavendish... any idea if its generally available yet?
