Normally I would agree with you on this depending on the site downloaded from. However this is straight from Apple and seeing that I never have these problems with ADSL (512kb upto 4Mb, depending on where I am) I fail to see why this should be a problem with CellC. After all it is claimed to be whooosh... all I seem to get is screeeeach...:wtf: someone pls tell them to release the brakes ;)

You have no idea how many times have I received corrupt files from Apple. Especially when you split the downloads. Also had the problem with the software update downloading a 700MB update and then telling me it is corrupt.
 
Got the 2G for my mother. (I was on ADSL).

I was not happy with my ADSL so I tried my mom's stick at my home. I connected @3G and I was very fast.

Canceled my ADSL and got the 5G for myself.

Since then neither me nor my mother has been able to connect faster than EDGE.

I tried at home, at my moms house, at work and even at the golf yesterday. All I get is EDGE.

Did the speed test: 0.18 download and 0.08 upload

Just got about 6 mbits/sec with the black stick with a signal of -83 dBm. Technopark, Stellenbosh.
 
I also suffer with "disconnects" while I'm browsing, but when I'm downloading a torrent or using a download manager my connection is stable... Funny enough, my speedtest results are never spectacular, but when using Free Download Manager and downloading from a news server in the U.S. I regularly get above 10Mbps download speeds... (Best ever 16Mbps)
 
16Mbps , wow thats impressive. Best I ever had was around 5Mbps
 
Cell C, welcome to the West Rand. I am receiving my best speeds of 2.84Mbps. and RSSI is -53dBm instead of -103dBm. Somehow I think my local tower has been upgraded to 3g status.
 
Has any other peopel been experiencing problems in Cape Town (City and Northern suburbs)

I've been getting very slow upload speeds for a couple of weeks now, except in the middle of the night. Cape Town southern suburbs.
 
Looks like Oakdene, Townsview and Linmeyer have been upgraded. (JHB south)

Glenvista and Bassonia only get EDGE. Probably get upgraded later.

My signal is not impressive, -95db and the Speedstick has to be next to the window connected via a USB cradle .

Will test during the day on Monday again and see if things are still the same during business hours.
