Eish! what modem was used for that! if it was a 21mb/sec modem there must be something wrong with the speedtest??!!

I'm still not able to reach close to 2MB.. a bit off topic question though... if you have prepaid 5GB per month speedstick, does you 5 GB renew each month? or does it add up?

you forfeit your current 5gig if you don't use it during the month of February,MARCH,APRIL, etc
New calender month you receive fresh start of 5gig but it doesn't add up unfortunatey

This morning's test results (before the network start to get busy)

E1820 speedstick :

So the E1820 still have the edge...

Lib, are these results reproducible? Do you consistently get better speeds without the router?

Hi Guys!
I'm new to this forum, so excuse me asking the question here, but I saw some earlier comments about routers...

I am thinking of getting the 5GB speedstick and MR3420, LPDA11A antenna, 3G coupler and UC100.

Would this combination work well? Alternatively, if somebody could give me a link to the forum where I should ask the question, I would be greatful - I'm a bit of a dumbass when it comes to forum rules.... sorry...

Don't buy this 3G bundle just yet. I bought the bundle from Uniterm and I didn't see results. I get 100% signal (RSSI -51dBm) in my area.

So the reason I bought the antenna was to increase reception for the iPhone 4. (Vodacom sucks in my area/location)

My brother and I spent a whole afternoon pointing the antenna to different locations without any results. (On the roof with a 2 meter aluminium pole)

Either the coupler is faulty, or I must be the biggest idiot around.

I will be borrowing the antenna to RichardG for him to test at his place and see if he sees any results.

I am using the MR3420 though. Works fine with my Speedstick and iBurst modem. It does take over 5 minutes to connect though.

At the moment I don't recommend the 3G bundle just yet.

Do you mean you get -51dBm without the antenna?

EDIT: MDMA for example only reports up to -51dBm. If you get a stronger signal than that you wouldn't know. Besides, you wouldn't need it either.

Thanks Madhawk! I will keep watching what you guys come up with and read up a bit on the Dovado 4GR
