Cell C: The 4G and 4Gs debacle continues

just sour grapes because they cant even the price that cell c is offering
 
YEEE! CellC is keeping them busy with marketing speak while offering BY FAR the best value for money 3G, 4G or whatever. People dont care much about the Geeeez... they care about the RRRRRRRRRz. GO CELLC!
 
If Cell C want to differentiate, then must call it 3.75G then...

Does it really matter....

U plug in your modem, you connect....you have faster speeds then Voda/Mtn can offer...and you are not being bleed dry by R2/meg..... - why do the duo not respond with better pricing?....guess they thought CellC would never upset the fruitbasket- 4G,5G,7.33G, does not really matter as long as it works is faster and cheaper...

Interestingky enough - even though Vodacom was instructed to cease using the term "broadband" in terms of their mobile service i don't hear CellC bleating about their continued use of the terminology!

What they charge has absolutely nothing to do with it really. 4G is a technical term used to describe a network that Cell C do NOT, I repeat, do NOT have. Simple as that...
 
Last time I check For was with an F not a 4. If you are trying to be l33t then 4 is A so They are actually Cell C AGs? So are they German now?
Get a life and get with the program. No one buys data by the meg - give us uncapped and call it by its name, 3G.
For years they had a 2G network, why did they not market them back then as Cell C 2Gs meaning Too Goddam Slow !

No, but dissing Cell-C and pi$$ing on their parade is cool. They get way too much credit for their weak attempt - we need to regulate it by slagging them off.

Cell C is the only network provider that is actually trying to change prices in this country, MTN and Vodacom are quite happy ripping us off. Would you rather pay R2/MB for all eternity? They have the "s" which differentiates it from 4G. The most important thing is, they are stirring up the market.
 
They are farting in a windstorm and wanting great applause for it. They are doing too little, too late and in an oh-so lame manner. They should get bliksemed for even trying. If you can't go big, go home.
 
Last time I checked the same ASA said Vodacom and MTN can't use the word "Broadband" to promote their data packages yet these two crooks still continue to use the term. Double Standards?

...the advertising was devious, but the product looks to be fantastic (...still waiting for it to hit Jhb so i can get my hands on it)
So I say they deserve a fair amount of credit.
Again, dodgy marketing but KILLER product/pricing for 99.9999% of people out there.

I think Cell C should concede and move on... they should have used the massive price advantage to market their product.. fact is that I did this calculation:

Vodacom MyGig 2GB - 24 month contract = R 385.00pm (19c/MB OOB)

Cell C 2GB - 12 month contract = R1500(up front)/12months = R 125.00pm (39c/MB)

If you stick to the 2GB/5GB limit per month, and not use OOB MB's... then you'll be paying 1/3 of the Vodacom rate... that works for me...

I signed up yesterday, so far so good, I had no issues connecting, networks seems reasonably good and stable... latency: Vodacom vs CellC same location:

Vodacom: rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 101.273/145.186/712.447/96.911 ms
Cell C: rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 93.078/104.946/125.726/5.730 ms

So happy that I didn't have to fork out R389 for Vodacom data again... shooo! :p
 
Hoe long before this comes to prepaid? How long before they make their next innovation? You wanna know how long? Never - cause it does not suit them. They don't give a crap about progress, they have millions in debt to repay and that's why they are wanting you to pay for 12 months before hand.

Who know, 4 months from now there might not be a Cell C - and where are you gonna get your monthly ration then? Roaming on Vodacom? Bhahahaha!
