Cell C website downtime frustrates users

Cell C is experiencing prolonged website downtime; cause currently unknown

Let's hope so, cause that R50 special was awesome.

In my experience MTN Active only worked about three out of every ten times I actually tried to log in.

Er, not quite. http://co.za only shows that their DNS is hosted at MTN Business (which used to be Verizon, which used to be UUnet). The DNS works fine and returns an IP of 41.72.143.60. AfriNIC reports the IP belongs to a net-block assigned to Hetzner. Tracing to that IP also shows it's hosted at Hetzner.

But looking at the reverse DNS, it's clear that it is trigger/isobar that is responsible for the Cell C web site. I'd be very unhappy with isobar if I were Cell C.

I tried self service just now and I could log in, so it seems that that its ok. I wish their 3 gig bundle valid for a year would stay, becuase that is a very handy one to have.
