Cell C wifi calling on iPhones

Cell C has wifi calling but from their website supported handsets only show some Android models and no iPhone support....
Did anyone try wifi calling on an iPhone?

Hi Mams

Thank you for posting to us.

Kindly note that the service is not yet available for Apple device.

Why not?

When will it be?

It needs to be in line with the functions of the device itself, on our side, we also need to ensure that the network is fully functional once implemented. We have no ETA, but it will be available upon conclusion of testing.

There certainly are plans to roll out the service to more devices in the near future.

Yep, ours activated on all the family iphones on Sunday :) ..... great concept, BUT if you are on WIFI (like your home WIFI) or overseas, then you could use whatsapp or FB messenger for free, BUT I do see the benefit of calling landlines / mobile users who don't use whatsapp or FB messenger if you are overseas :D Great tool for that ! Oh, if I was you, I would activate it, then turn it off.... or you will be using your home WIFI (and your data) as the CellC backbone instead of using their carrier infrastructure. :P .... Yes, this was designed to take the pressure off mobile phone networks and has been very succesful in doing so overseas :D

My (iPhone 5) works on Wifi calling but not when I am out the house. The signal bar shows no signal and I cannot receive nor make calls.

Took the phone to local CellC shop, they advise without looking that the phone is faulty. Take phone to Apple shop and they charge me R180 to say nothing wrong. Back to CellC shop, a little less helpful now, but insist it is phone. Back to Apple shop again and get to see tech. He takes out SIM, puts it in another phone, it shows no signal. He puts his (Vodacom) SIM into my phone and it shows 5 bars. So back to CellC shop again. Very busy so have to wait 45 mins. Why are you back, lady says, so I explain. No, we cannot swap SIM since you have not lost yours or lost your phone. Says I must buy a new SIM. Bring it home and call 140 number. Since SIM has been RICA's, they cannot transfer my number

One actually wonders why we bother. To spend 5 hours driving about, and 135km getting nowhere makes me 100% fed up. Also, get asked all sorts of questions I cannot answer. Even though the call log on the phone has no entries, they insist I must trot out last few numbers called. On my phone (and I imagine most) I store and look for names, I have no idea what the numbers are. Are you supposed to be some kind of savant that recalls every little thing you have done over the past year?

Staff are so disinterested in what they are doing and many can hardly speak English
