Dear @Cell_C

Why is it such a painful process to apply for C Surance?

Firstly your online portal does not work, You have to call the call centre.

Call the centre and you're told to visit nearest CellC store... like seriously... in this day and age?(Not to mention Covid...?)
Or sms "Insurance" to 14007 - Sent on 26th May... Which I am still waiting for a reply or call...

Call back the call centre the following day.
Yay a new agent says she will send me the app form to fill in. 100%
Done and emailed back.

Then you get an email like below;

Thank you for your mail.
Kindly note that we require the below .

  • Copy of ID
  • Completed application forms
  • Subscriber agreement / Cell C contract
Kindly follow the steps below:

1) Fill them in accordingly.
2) Get a hold of your Cell C subscriber agreement from the nearest C-store/084 155 5555.
3) Once the above is done, send us the filled in forms with your subscriber agreement and id copy.
4) Look out for the #ticket number which will reflect afterwards the email has been sent.
5) Call 0841570007 then give the available agent the #ticket number, so they can assist with taking out insurance.

Kind regards

I am not apply with CellC? Shouldn't you already have the subscriber agreement?
My contract is over 10 years old.. How will I have the subscriber agreement...?

I send through copies of ID

Then get this response;

Good day keegan

Thank you for your email.

Kindly note if your insurance is over 10 years you need to provide Bank statement to confirm insurance debit order.

Kind regards
Mahlako Julia

Like seriously now...???

Does CellC want to insure my device or not??

I would never insure through a provider anyhow.........................
It just makes sense.
I don't have house or vehicle insurance...
So yeah, I'd rather have it covered by provider.

Good day Keegan

Please PM us your Cell C + an alternative contact number. We will look into this matter and advise.
