CellC Number Retention

Dear CellC Rep,

Customer Service email doesn't respond. Call quality to the call center is poor enough to make it frustrating, and best of all when I was nearly done I got a "...peep, click, beep ... Welcome to CellC, how can I help you?" - they actually dropped the call and reconnected me to a new operator!

I have a CellC prepaid SIM. I applied for a new CellC contract last week and requested to keep the old prepaid phone number. The new phone & SIM have arrived and I signed for the package. But the old prepaid SIM is still working, so I haven't opened the new SIM yet.

I gather from the call center that a "number transfer" must be requested? That's what I asked for when I took out the contract. I asked for a number transfer from prepaid for another contract of mine and it worked fine - prepaid SIM dies, insert new SIM, off you go with the same number. This time the prepaid SIM just isn't dying, so I suspect that the number transfer has indeed not be activated on the system.

Who can just clearly tell me at what point I am in the process? and what I need to do to complete the process this time. The wheels are jammed at CellC, but I can't see inside to fix the problem.

PM the Cellc rep. He can easily swap the number onto the contract for you. He is pretty awesome. Swapped numbers around on my contracts many times and is always willing to help.

After a friendly phone call this morning it is all sorted and working on the new SIM. Thanks Cell_C !
