CellC R50 special

Just loaded R50, and got an extra R50 CellC to CellC airtime (which suits me nicely, as all the family phones are on CellC!).

That's still a good deal for me (but I'm already missing the 500mb!)

This is so crap. Do you understand how good this deal was?! You could technically get 2GB a month for free + R200 airtime which could also be used for data. It was like the best deal EVER! I was lucky as well because i was about 500m away from the mast so speeds were nice. Add to the fact that 8ta has signal issues in Rivonia means 2 x crap.

Agreed, still a good deal. The most important people in my life are on Cell C, so i'm still happy. What does Vodacom or MTN give their customers? Nada...

8ta has a deal of 2G (anytime) + 1G FREE (night usage) for R149.
See: http://8ta.co.za/plans/2gbpromo/
All you have to do is go to an 8ta store and activate a SIM.
Take RICA papers with (ID and proof of residence).
All you do is purchase airtime (anywhere) and convert to the 2G + 1G promo deal.
This is the current cheapest deal in SA, prepaid.

After the Cell C deal ended, I went yesterday and got the 8ta
SIM. Bonus is I use my Cell C dongle modem, and it's 100% compatible with
the 8ta network. It's just as fast as Cell C for me.

PS: Dear moderators, this is not an ad for 8ta, so don't delete this post again. It's a relevant alternative
to Cell C having finished their promo deal. After all, we all have a right to seek affordable alternatives.
That is the point of this site; to compare and liberate consumerism. If Cell C come out with a new offer, I may swing back.

I'm sorry to have to say this but I'm also not putting another cent into CellC.

I hardly used the R 50 special but used it when I really needed it. Now I'll just finish the 2GB per month till the 12 months is over. In the mean time I'll be getting an 8ta sim of which I can load 3GB which will last for 12 months I can use where the R 50's used to help.

I think you'll find your strategy is flawed when you discover that the bundle you're talking about has a 2 month validity.

Cell C sells a virtual voucher for R399 for 3GB, valid for 12 months (365 Days). Works out to 250MB per month.

HI Shasha23

The R50 deal was good.
There are other data deals in the pipe line.
But for now still have the virtual vouchers.

Regards

Nah

Those vouchers are more for people who spend a lot of time on their phone making calls and tweeting, something like that won’t work for me

I mean speeding R200 for 500mb is not cool, and I don’t send sms's a lot since I find it to be kind of stupid, so I would probably only end up using 10 of them at the most and I don’t know a lot of people who use cellC so those free minutes would be a waist since I would never talk with someone for more than 5mins more so a guy since only my friends have cellC

But if something better comes along ill probably go for that since CellC speeds were really amazing, I could even get over 15mbps when I did a speed test making full use of my 3G modem

I received this SMS from Cell C today:

Cell C will bring you a NEW Woza promotion on 20 April, so the OLD Woza will end on 19 April.
Wait for more information later in April. Cell C

Hopefully they will bring the R50 or better promotion back.

Hope so too.
I have brought to their attention the high demand for it.
I'm sure something will come soon.
Just wait for new CEO starts end of month, Big ideas from what i have heard.
