I am on Top-Up, phoned them.. and there was a long winded, no real clarifying explanation to me, why I am not able to chose the 99C Top-Up 200/400 billing system.
So, now I'm being "punished" for being on a different system or not a new customer, on the 141/147 dial options it says that you are able to change your tariff plan, but there's no option ether on self help phone option or through an operator.:confused:
Any Help would be appreciated!

yea i went into the cellc store and asked if i could change me tarrif plan to the new 99c they said no... only for new contracts... i think it is bull, esp since you can get on prepaid so we(top-up contract customers) should be able to access the 99c tarrif plan as well

Good Day

You are unable to change the current tariffs of your current contracts.
How ever you are able to migrate to the new straight up contracts.
Which offer you better prices , great tariffs and amazing extras.

Eh? What's the difference between "change to" and "migrate"?

Some clarification from Cell C would be great. Or are they just as confused by their own product?

So everytime CellC has a new promo one has to get a new Sim. WTF. Customers are thinking twice whether to go with CellC nowadays. They have some good packages but have non whatsoever idea on how to keep their customers happy.

Maybe it's my lack of understanding, but if you are currently on contract with CellC it looks like they want you to migrate contracts, i.e. cancel current one and sign a new one for the remainder of the term at the new pricing structure and pay off the rest of the phones cost accordingly.

It looks like they are trying to simplify their billing system, and just charge one rate no matter what, prepaid or contract...
I'm not sure what penalties would apply if any?

Edit: On a brighter side.. If you select your own device and add C-Cover value added service it looks like CellC contracts are free:

Loophole time! :D

I signed up for the Galaxy Note special at R379 (Business Chat Standard, 500MB included) during last December and just got a quote to migrate to a Straight Up 400.

Apparently it'll cost R400 "once off migration fee" plus R400 per month. Score :D

You sure?? So you will pay only R400 per month? This effectively means your handset is free for the rest of your contract. Plus your call rate is now halved (previously R2.00 per minute).

Maybe I should also enquire about a migration from Control Chat :erm:

Yep :D

I tried my best to get the lady I was talking to to add a subsidy fee or something but she insisted that R400 is all I'd have to pay.

The contract builder has the Note for R754x24 on Straightup400 :erm:

Yep :D

I suppose it makes sense though, because currently I pay R379 for the Business Chat Standard (R185), 500MB of data (R109) and the phone, which means the phone is R85 :D
