Hi, I have a Centurion D5 (old type) gate motor that I am having problems with. Got home this morning opened the gate with remote, drove in and gate would not close. From previous problem - I went and purchased new battery and installed.

Once installed had to reset all. Switched off all power to gate motor including disconnecting battery, fitted set link and powered up again. Went through all the motions with the gate motor, set everything up and the disconnected the set link. Motor would not engage. disengaged the gate motor and closed the gate and engaged the motor again, pushed the remote and the gate opens but will not close. Disengaged motor again closed gate and this time pushed the TEST button and gate opened but will not close.

Checked all fuses, Doss Carrier, and all connections and all is fine. Problem is that after gate has opened it will not close whether I am using the remote or Test Button.....what is the problem here? Is it the control board that is faulty as everything seems to be working fine except when trying to close the gate...it will not close. Can anyone assist me here as with it being the holidays Centurion Agents are not open till Monday.

^this or if you have the gate connected to your intercom - if either of their wires are shorting it forces the gate to go in a "safety" mode, from past experience it causes the same issue you described

Hi, I have wired safety Beams, how would I check these? I also have an intercom connected, I will have to disconnect the intercom to see if this is the problem in the morning. I will also disconnect the beams if I can find that wiring or where it is connected.

Look for signs of tampering first. Then clean the lenses. See if they line up properly.

On the control board, the connection for beams should be clearly marked. Well in acronym format probably, can't remember now. SB or IR perhaps.

Hi, checked all the fuses they are fine, problem is know that after checking all I cannot even set the motor. All the necessary lights are on but the motor will not engage. Run the motor straight off the battery and motor is fine but will not engage when setting up. I am stumped as to what is wrong.
