Charcoal after braaing

I always feel bad to leave some hot coals lying there to die. :(
Always thinking "what a waste...that could have taken care of a steak or two..".

Half a drum :p

What's the point. You switch it on, let it heat up, cook your food, and switch the gas off when you're done.

Om te braai is nie net om kos gaar te maak nie... dit is tyd om te kuier en rustig te verkeer!

Please - fire isn't the social lubricant - that role falls the bottle of cheap brandy you've consumed in the time it's taken you to get a few coals hot enough to cook a chop. :p

Brandy? S'pose that's the standard choice on the Wild Side! :)

With a Weber I believe you can close it up so it dies of suffocation and then you can use it again next time.

This.

Close the vent underneath and the one in the lid and the charcoal suffocates and goes out and is usable again next time with only a small top up of fresh charcoal.

Speaking of which... what was the outcome of your neighbour's "little" issue last week?

Not sure - I haven't seen him around these past few days so I presume he's gone back to Central. I'll send you his photo, maybe you'll see him around.
