Still something on the OS network side as capacity to that server isn't an issue:

Where are you testing from. If you are sitting next to the server that does not count. If you say it is on the OS network then why are you not working with them to fix it? If it is on the OS network why do I not see this with VOX ? If ISP are just going to say its not our fault then why do we have ISPs. Then we should complain to ICASA about it.

If only I complain then probably yes. But if everybody logs a complaint at ICASA they have to do something. Can Mybroadband not do something about it. I thought that is why the site is here?

Initially that's why the site was established, now not so much anymore...

This was tested from my house over a ftth link, so transverses our network just like your tests. Just with out OS in the middle. I didn't say I wouldn't be doing anything about it. I have engaged with OS already :).

WOW you have a gig line to your house. Nice. OK cool so then we are making progress with the issue on your end. Why would the VOX test then be fine if it is on the OS side. Do you have some configuration problem between you and OS that VOX and OS does not have ?

Well no who knows at this point, I sent you the IPC graph from our side and it doesn't match up with yours. So it's just a troubleshooting process with OS from here.

Here is the result of testing against the Cool ideas server. Interusting to see the ping is so slow when connecting to Cool Ideas but when connecting with Vox the ping is fast.

I have now switched over to VOX and will test against the same Cool Ideas server for the day.

Here are the test results of testing against the Cool Ideas server using VOX as ISP for the day. I switched 8:22 this morning. I only have one dip below the 90 Mbps mark. on the VOX network to the CI server. The pings are also slow with a couple of fast ones. Upload had 2 dips below 35 Mbps.

So it seems there is something going on between OS and IS and OS and Cool Ideas where they hand over to the other network as all is fine on OS to VOX. Can other people also do some tests and see if you get the same. Also use other carriers like Vumatel etc.

And at the most random times as well.

The dips in your graph versus our IPC capacity don't correlate as I mentioned before.
Something does not make any sense then as if IPC is not the problem as most people stated why are you looking at the IPC chart and trying to compare it with the speed chart. If IPC is not the problem, why look at it ?

I am saying IPC doesn't correlate to what you and me see, therefor it is influenced by OS on the layer2 side.

Do you think it is a layer 2 issue on the OS side. I can ask the Os tech to have a look at it. Should I ask him to contact you ?

Why OS when the same issues do not occur with some other ISPs running over OS. If it's directly related to OS then the problem should impact all ISP traffic, especially at layer 2.

Well this is exactly the point, as I mentioned the OS hand offs might be in different locations and so run over different parts of the OS network.

The senior OS specialist is now busy plotting all the routes of the OS GPON network to see if the ISP take different routes.

"ek sal al die ISPs op die GPON wat daar is se mapping vat en dan kyk ons of verskillende ISPs verskillende roetes neem"

If it is the same then what ?
