Hi,

I have a 1mb ADSL line installed at my office... running @ 4mb/s due to telkoms upgrade on their accounts. Also using telkom as my ISP. Now if i had an adsl line installed at home and purchsed another DSL router. I can then use my username and password from work. This is the problem though.. do i need a 1mb line installed @ my house or can i get a cheaper 384k line installed and still connect? Using the same username and password for the 1mb account?

Thanks, help is much appreciated

Hi and welcome to the forums.
Well it depends i think telkom allows 2 concurrent logins, you can check the website. If they do then yes you will be able to use your username and password at home and work the line speed is not important so you can install a 384 if you so desire.

thanks for the quick reply.. u have answered my question.

Right on

I do exactly that.

1mb line at work, with a 384 at home with same username and password. Works like a charm. My ISP allows 2 concurrent connections.

Just watch your cap though (if you have one)

Now, I am building a house in a community complex. There are no internal municiple roads, so I am planning a non shaped, non capped installation for the 15 families, and only 1 ISP account. The costs are shared amongst everyone.

And no we are no Amish ;)

Cheers

wtf i never thought of this.

Does anyone know if Mweb Fibre Uncapped accounts allow concurrent connections?

Uncapped accounts do not allow concurrent connections, else there would be loads of sharing going on; And little profit being made.
