My very limited experience in this regard.

When you are youngish 25-35 single and eligible, then having a fancy car is attractive to the ladies - I suppose because it's an indicator of success and future earning potential, but you need to have the career etc to go with that.

As you get older women want to see you transition from a fast flashy car to a family car. They don't like it when you try go back!

Good luck with your gold digger goals.

I had the NA 2.0ST but then Ford took forever to release the 1.6T. Ended up with the nice to be in but oh so boring polo gti. Didn't regret it because owned in maintenance plan and good resale. But still sad I missed out on the fiesta ST

Picked up a '91 Honda CRX with factory fitted freeflow for a ridiculous price 20 years ago, still enjoying it.
Only has kiddie back seats and is just a 1.6 DOHC and was just before VTEC, but still goes like a bat out of hell.

Honda knows how to build NA engines, in fact Japanese and Koreans look to be very good at this looking at how lazy Germany's and American NA engines are.

It's been too long since I was an enthusiast to comment, but it's always been thought that any Japanese make is also the best sturdy buy. Had a shared-use Mazda 323, nothing you did to it could scratch its reliability. Engines just go on and on as well.
