Cheapest ever capped ADSL prices in SA

Cheapest capped ADSL prices ever

ADSL users can purchase data for as low as R1.50 per GB after the latest price cuts. Here is a comparison of capped ADSL data prices

@rpm, can you please factor in Cybersmart's Supersize option somewhere?

For R99 per month you get 50GB anytime data plus 1000GB after hours.

A 20GB account + supersize costs R134 + R99 = R233pm
70GB @ R233 = R3.33 per anytime gig
1070GB @ R233 = 22c per gig for the minimum price per gig :)

Edit: PS did anyone notice that Cybersmart no longer cuts you off when you reach your cap? They deduct the overuse from your next month! I love it!

problem is that this is still sold by line speed....
rework your prices on a 10Mb line...cause that is what the capped accounts will run at...

hence not a true comparison.

No, the R134 is for 20GB data only (any line speed, line not included) and the Supersize addon is also speed independent.

Just for fun, their 20GB data plus 10Mb adsl bundle costs R544pm, R643pm with Supersize.

Thus 70GB @ R643 is R9.18 per GB (line rental included)
or 1070GB @ R643 is 60c per GB (line rental included)

None of the article's prices include line rental :)

yeah saw that....not a bad deal then....
too bad the 50 is sold out....
20 too little....100 too much lol especially when you get 1TB after hours....which on some lines are impossible...

The other ISP's would not be persuaded by the lower prices alone. The only thing that will move them is a shift in customers away from them to WA. And that does not depend on price alone. Service levels also play an important role.

Kids, when I was your age, something called ADSL was R70 for a gig.

Fark I remember those days , Webafrica pricing to be exact. I use to switch between Telkom and Webafrica as local bandwidth on Telkom was free and you could use it for Newsgroups. Ah uncap is bliss.

Your cheap is my expensive

"Cheapest" is not equivalent to lowest rate per Gb, but the lowest payment price for getting what you actually need (or actually want in some cases). Few of these companies are willing to do anything for you for a few Rands only.
