It sure will but that's just what he needs until he can get a new OS disk.

I am thinking of doing a re install. I got all the disks with the book so that is not the problem. I am a windows man so never done a restore on a mac. Is it a simple procedure? Could someone please explain to me how I burn a bootable mac disk??

I have burnt the dmg to DL dvd and boot holding c and f all happens!

Is there some special code or some bs i need to do to get this thing to work??

Also how do I connect to my windows machine to drop this image on there?? clueless
 
Open up Disk Utilities - Go to images then burn.

Did that :( and no luck.

I see there is an option to convert the file into a DVD/CD master, Should I perhaps try that? Will that make it bootable?
 
the DVD is 7.6 GB in size, you need either a double layer DVD or a special method of creating an bootable img. Phone me re the special method, (Tomorrow.)

Yeah I bought dual layer dvds today and burnt the .dmg to it and it doesnt boot. The files are on there though.
