Checking data balance on CellC prepaid

Hi Bas, that used to work fine before the iOS6 update. Since the update, you just return to the Sim Applications menu after pressing the last "Accept". The same happens when trying to convert airtime to a bundle via that menu.

i have just tested this on an ipad2 running os6 and it works fine please advise which ipad you are using?

Well, I tested on the 3rd Generation iPad with iOS6 and it doesn't work anymore.

I have to log into my Cell C account to check my balance now.

I am using a 16GB iPad 2 with 3G. It seems to work fine, but the last "step" of each series of taps is missing. For instance:
to check my data balance I tap the following:
Settings (fine)
Cellular Data (fine)
SIM Applications (fine)
Products & Services (fine)
Balance Enquiry (fine)
"Accept" button ("please wait" dialogue pops up, and I am reverted to the SIM Applications screen)

So, please check if the whole series of taps work fine, since it could seem to be working if you don't follow the entire procedure up to the end.

I think this would be the same as with all other users complaining.

+1 I am able to get through the menu, but when requesting my balance, it just returns to the app screen. The only thing I can think of is that I still have the first SIM when they started the 2GB x 12 promo early 2011 and returned by contract. Maybe there are something funny with the SIM card.

It worked fine until I upgraded to iOS6. Nobody has experienced this under iOS5.x

i was having the same problem and managed to get the balance eqnuiry to work.

I have the new ipad running IOS6.

i went to
-Settings
-Carrier
-Turned Automatic to OFF
-When it had finished searching for a carrier i selected Cell C
-CHecked balance and it worked

i hope this helps someone else
 
unfortunately it only seems to work once. so you have to complete all these steps each time you want to check
 
It can happen if you are roaming to Vodacom. Firmware bug not excluded.

Create a login on the CellC web site: https://www.cellc.co.za/my-account
Then go to MyAccount Dashboard->UsageInformation for a listing of usage and remaining data

This will most certainly work, provided you have another device that uses a microsim, from which you could receive the confirmation sms.

The problem is that there is this functionality that used to work just fine untill iOS6 came out and it is not getting updated or adjusted by the owner/supplier.

Any update yet, Cell C?

This issue seems to have been fixed eventually. I checked it this morning from my iPad 2 and it was working again.
 
Now it's not working. I'm using a cellC dongle and it refuses to show me the data balance. Any way else to check?

You can download the Cell C app on your phone, and register the number in question.
