After yesterday, not being able to be reached in an emergency by my wife, because, once again, the Vodacom network is less useless than sand, I have taken the decision to cancel my cellphone contract. This is being actioned as I write this, I already have a final settlement from Vodacom.
In a similar manner as I have done with iBurst, I am now giving Vodacom the boot, and stating here, how I feel about it! It is high time these greedy corporates, start to think about the people who are paying their salaries!
I am now, absolutely fed up with not being able to use my phone, yet every month I have to pay, and pay and pay for this rubbish. This is not service, this is rubbish and I refuse to pay another cent for it. I will pay the cancellation fees and then hopefully you are out of my life for good.
I have complained, complained, begged, pleaded, complained, complained, begged some more, begged, begged again, for Vodacom to sort out the signal issues in Robertsham, Johannesburg. I have even involved the owner of this very website to get Vodacom to pull the finger out and DO SOMETHING about this 'network' of theirs.
Yesterday was the last straw as Vodacom sees it fit to spam (and lock up my phone's processor in the process) with their FreeNews4u SPAM, which I never signed up for, but I cannot be reached on my cellphone. Seems spam has a higher priority than me making a call.
Those of you who consider ever moving to Vodacom consider these will be your constant companions:
- Poor signal, most of the time
- Non/delayed SMS delivery
- Spam will be a constant problem
- Poor battery life on your phone because the network is forcing your phone to reconnect to the network the whole time
- Dreadful, distorted voice quality
That is all I have to say for now!
