Cities are cities!

I was thinking rolling green hills, stone cottages, grey seas, rain slashing down .... small little town pub.

Don't get me wrong I love Ireland. I remember waking up in North Ireland on New Year's at my friend's house and the entire village below was blanketed with snow.. That the kind of thing you're on about hey.

At Fruit/Veg they have a 12month matured Cheddar cheese with a black skin and imported from Germany. I have never ever tasted any cheese like this one in my life!
They don't always have the cheese in stock but when they do have it, it sells within hours!

Everyday cheese - Parmalat Strong Cheddar / Extra Mature

Once a month I go moggy at Checkers with their '400 cheeses' and buy a variety. I've had some nice ones so far with the Red Leicester currently in the lead as favorite :D

Yummy!

Woolworths sells small containers (20g) of cream cheese with black pepper for R 5 each. Cute for picnics or "padkos" :)

Aye, check out a proper Welsh Rarebit recipe, it's got a beaten egg/s in ;)

I've found one recipe out of 10 so far with some beaten egg yolks.

EDIT - ok I've found a few now but the vast majority don't have egg.

Are ye doubting mah Welsh Great Great Grandmother? .... she will have your soul! :D

That's how she made it and that's how it got passed down, it really does set it apart from just being glorified cheese on toast though, you should give it a go.
