Cheese

I'm just happy I'm not as full of *** as you. Probably a consequence of growing up relatively poor.

I can afford something that tastes good but you know I should take the crappiest part of the cow by principle.

It’s either your jealousy or your stupidity speaking.

Paying R300/KG for cheese and being snobby about it? I wouldn't label others stupid when doing that. :crylaugh:

1. You quoted me on meat.
2. Go check the price of artisanal cheese in France, it’s like 10€ for a small cheese. You can check, they’re all at 40/50€/kg (R700/800). http://www.fromagerie-martin.com/fromage.php?an=brebis
3. Why do you care about the way I deem fit to spend my money?

Jealousy is the only explanation, I don’t judge the many many ways you probably spend stupidly your money.

We should all eat polony (did you try to get rebates on the listeriosed packs?) and pap for the sake of it.

What an exciting life... I’m sorry but I like good food and I only have short life and the means to support my habits.

Why, oh why I cannot choose, that's like asking me to pick which is my favourite arm.
I used to be a fan of soft cheeses like Brie, Cambert but after having decent blues, I much prefer those. Though I wouldn't say no to a decent brie.

Can we even get these artisanal brands in SA? Certainly not at Checkers. I think the price here must be sky high for them.

I'm much more fond of Swiss cave aged aromatic cheeses - gruyere, der Scharfe maxx, appenzeller.

Never tried those yet, must give them a try if I can find some :-).

Fair enough. I don't mind paying a little more for a guaranteed hit. :)

I find food lovers to be very inconsistent quality between two different stores. The new Somerset one has a good butchers.
