Not a cent, it actually pitched up at home on the 10th from RAM and in DHL packaging. No customs whatsoever. It is a good choise to pay that extra R10 and tell them to put the phone in an unmarked box. Customs don't look into it then.hey you got it. Good stuff! how much did customs end up being if you don't mind me asking?
how you enjoying it now that you've had a few days to play?
Since I've had it, its been really really good, I just got caught up with tests and I completely forgot about this thread. I ended up installing Nova Launcher and that just made it pretty much perfect. It has a very stock android feel about it too, even without Nova.
The Camera is decent as a quick point and shoot but nothing anywhere close to the standards that the big brands have set.
The screen is simply astoundingly good! Excellent colour representation and HD looks gorgeous.
Call quality is very good, can't really notice a difference between my stolen iPhone and this.
In terms of gaming, I've been able to play Real Racing 3 and FIFA 14 with no lag at all. All the other less graphic intense games work with no problems anyway.
The battery life is decent. I can get about 12 hours on the battery when just using it for messaging and calling, and the occasional game. I want to get the 3000MAh battery before it goes out of production though because I somehow feel it would help a lot, especially with it having to power a 5 inch screen.
It comes with a tiny 4GB built in memory but I put a 64GB memory card in it. Anyone know how I can force apps to install on the memory card by default, and get the email app to save them on the memory card and not the internal memory?
The other thing I've noticed is they printed a multitasking button on the capacitive buttons, but it functions as a menu button, anyone with an idea of how to force it to multitasking?
The gigabyte of RAM is handling the device nicely for now.
All in all, I have to say that I'm quite pleased with the phone, it works, it does what I want it to, and I haven't seen any instabilities in the ROM. Although I would say that I want to install KitKat onto it, because the ROM does hide some options and installs apps to control them, which is annoying when I've gone and deleted them. Does anyone know if chinese phones ever get updates to the android os?
I'll try and post a couple of pics over the weekend and feel free to ask anything else.
