Chiropractor

A lot of people go to homeopaths, naturopaths and and cause conventional medicine doesn't work, unfortunately there are times that this is the case.
the mind is a very powerful healing agent. Its why most of these quack healing practices seem to get results. Zero of them are repeatable though. For a drug to truly work, it needs to fetch results regardless of mind states and belief. It goes far beyond that, but for this discussion lets leave it there.

Been suffering from spinal problems my whole life. Had a fusion in 2010, the biggest mistake of my life. Now I use a baked bean tin and my back problems are no more. Almost all back problems are caused by stiff muscles. Learn to relax those muscles.

What do you do with the baked bean tin?

I agree about the chiropractors not being real doctors, but at a stage where I am willing to try one.
"Have you gone to any orthopedist" Any recommendations?
I haven't gone through this whole thread but I can recommend Dr Duncan McGuire at the Cape Town Mediclinic
(he is an Orthopaedic Surgeon)

Edit: He sorted out my shoulder pain without surgery so don't think because he is a surgeon that he only does surgery!

Get a solid chair, put tin on the chair, sit with your backside on the edge of the tin and move it around until you find the knotted muscles. You must feel pain when you sit on it. Hold position for 10 seconds. Move around doing that until you dont find any more sore spots. Three times a day. It works for knee pain, leg pain, everywhere muscles are involved. Get someone to do higher up where you cant reach and lean into tin.

I was referring specifically to his comments about deaths... it must be applied across the board regardless of training/education.

And in my experience, every chiro ive seen has documented everything they do, assess my entire body, posture, stance etc, question my general ergonomics at home/work and dont try fix the problem in one go.

Ive got a hip alignment issue, partly due to many factors and well I dont have time to be a fitness addict unfortunately. My one leg is slightly shorter than the other as a result and chiro corrects this for me.

Chiro can potentially make things worse if the patient gives them incorrect information like going in with a herniated disc. If the chiro doesnt know about this, and they could make it a bit worse. But if known, they definitely wont. So as much as they can do harm, its up to the patient to be informed and we all know how ignorant most people actually are.
The chiro that I go to won't touch you unless you go to him with xrays no older than 7-10 days.

That's a common tactic, do they do the X-ray or send you off? If they do the X-ray they are doing it for the money.

I use a chiro...works wonders for me...so it "works" for me. If I'm seeing results, is it working or nah....:laugh:.

I guess not.

I went once to emergency cos i suddenly couldnt feel my legs and i passed out for a minute from pain in my back. I got wheel chaired in. The doctors checked me and said it nothing, gave me pain killers. This happened to me a couple times over like 5 years. I got kicked by horse when i was younger, lmao funny story.

I found a chiropractor which go to whenever i feel out of sync and i feel great after and had no more episodes. I do a lot of back training in gym and no issue's again.

So when people say it is BS...I dnt get it. I can physically see improvement. I tend to lean heavily on my right foot when walking and that's a sign to go to the chiro. After the consult I can see that its way better than i walked in. So the question is am I imagining it.

Not all surgeries by "real doctors" are successful, so does that make him a fake doctor or is the treatment useless, its the success rate. So if a chiro does not work for you, it does not make the practice quackery.

I had similar problem with lower back pain. Someone also suggested chiro. Went to the chiro.
No x-rays or scans or anything he starts twisting my spine etc.
Guess what I had a damaged cushion and with this quack he ripped it open.
I then lost my feeling in my leg and would sometimes lose it completely.
My nerve was pinching (due to the dumb quack doing more damage)

At the end I had to go to a neurosurgeon to have it fixed.

there you. exactly my point.

Lol yes.. technology.. thats what he does... you are a clever one arent you.
actually, before you make another sarcastic retort, why not, for the sake of intelligent discussion, explain how he does this. Or don't you actually know? Do you just let a non-qualified psuedo practitioner perform so called medical functions on you without a clue what's going on? Explain please

Chiros are not radiologists of course they send you off. hahahahahahhahah

Here's a question to all the anti chiro guys.

What would you do if your child had chronic back pain that was incurable and the only form of relief for them was to go the chiro?

Why should I waste my breath? Youve already put yourself in a position to deny any explanation and already went on the attack.. confirmation bias in a way as was directed to me however opposite. You made it clear you werent interested in discussing, otherwise the tone of your posts would be different.

Bye bye

You still didn't quote any actual science.

I would consider all options but keep an open mind.

Just don't assume that instant relief means that it's working. All that repositioning of the spine and weakened tendons come at a cost.

I walk away from a physio with zero pain - but it comes back worse.
