So it's Christmas eve, meaning many folks will be doing prep/cooking etc for the big day.

We split the load with our friends with whom we share the day and our children go wild together but here goes:

* Roast Leg of Lamb basted in honey based Portuguese sauce.
* Roast Turkey
* Roast potatoes and other large veg
* Low carb rice salad
* Three bean salad
* Trifle - Normal and LowbCarb
* Icecream - Normal and low carb.

Low carb trifle a mix of low carb : cinnamon cake, custard, biscuit and cream.

I'll check with the boss but I think that's it.

*edit* dammit, could a mod fix the title? I see I can't edit or delete the thread to recreate

Braai. I don’t know the exact meat yet, but if I know my mother-in-law, it’s chicken and mutton.

Keeping it very simple this year and swapped the normal big Christmas lunch to dinner tonight because Eskom.

Dinner will be:
- Gammon
- baked potatoes
- pumpkin pie
- Asparagus wrapped in bacon
- Trifle for desert

Lunch tomorrow will be:
- Potjie
- Samp
- Ice Cream with brandy bar one chocolate sauce

Started the festivities off last night with a braai

Prep or cooked? Doesn't it take a while for breyani to cook/Stew?
Prepped. Did a quick braise of the meat, cooled it, layered it, and it's into the fridge. Needs 1h45m in the oven tomorrow to finish.

And first hour done

And baste and flip

The little browning is the honey glazing up, keeps juices in to make it moist

30 min check
