Dude -- can you run a real live network on a simulator ?????

Will a simulator explain to you how connect up to TELKOM ?

IS the money wasted when you can use the "practise" devices in a different setting ?????

( I cannot really afford it either -- but slowly slowly bit by bit blood sweat and tears )

Think BIG -- or go Home

the ENTREPRENEURIAL one

I suppose you could, but it wouldnt be a great idea,
Huh?
In a different setting? what? have u used gns3?
Think out of the box or forfeit ur job to someone who does

The i dont waste my money on things i dont need one.

Maybe I never explained myself properly

A REAL ( practise ) Router can be used in a production environment to run a REAL network.

Not just ALL play -- but some work too.

MY money -- MY job -- the only thing that decides "forfeit" is the "Market"

Just ask CaptainWiFi -- :D:D:D:D

ok so? why must i pay for something to be used in a production environment, chances are the one i can afford wont be used anyways? I can however get a very similar experience on hardware that i cannot afford using gns3/dynamips. Just asking again, have u used dynamips?

wow this thread is old :p

I can pick up:

Cisco 851 W Wireless router

Cisco 1700 Router

Cisco SFE 2000 24 port Switch

all for R 2 400.00

I'm currently busy with the cisco equipment part of the CCNA course and there is somethings I just can't do on the IOS using Gns3 (Or I'm missing it)
When doing the password recovery I need to do a bypass using 0x2142 now this needs the router to be switched off and on again to load but ignore the startup-config. This I can't do with Gns3

So my question:

Should I buy these 3 devices which I will need all 3 maybe use them and sell them later or should I just study the theory and hope all is good for the exam?

Cisco -- get the REAL Deal

IF they are all working 100% and can be upgraded with the latest IOS 12.4 and above

Then GO FOR IT.
