I see it was released yesterday, looks like lots of fun like the old Simcity games. Has anyone got it played it a bit, your views?

after EA has closed the Maxis Studios i suspect this is our only hope of a decent city builder. I am also looking a review. it looks pretty awesome but after the last simcity disappointment i am nervous putting money down.

Got pretty good reaction on steam, waiting on a full review. Yet another PC game to buy that I won't have time to play

I have seen and heard some people say it is just as good and even better than Simcity, Im really keen on getting this. Need to take a break from Diablo 3

I love CitiesXXL.

Sure this will be great too. The graphics are insane- you can zoom all the way in.

I hope they created a new engine thou. The old engine had problems once the city got too big.

Seems it only on computers, not iPads. Bit of a let down

Theres a few youtubers who got it early and there seems to be a positive attitude about it across the board about it. I'm waiting for payday before I make any purchases. Hopefully they would have ironed out any release day bugs by that time

Wtf O_o

Anyway... yes looks like a pretty good one to get. This is not the same engine as CitiesXXL, a whole different company that makes this one, so hopefully a fresh take on the city building thing.

I bought it and downloaded last night. I like the audio, game play is pretty awesome, the way to build roads really something cool. The achievement system is really nice and starting is really easy to pick up.

hahaha also bought it last night and I am really enjoying it so far, didn't get to play much but damn its a pretty game!! and i quite like that it doesn't hand hold and lets you figure things out on your own.

Yeah its fantastic like that, I figure out that that water pumping station and waste one can use the same piping, I started it by building their own pipes. lol

Bought it this morning, downloading while at work today..

Sies....haha do not want to live in your city.

An hour and a half you say... I live in Brackenfell, towards Durbanville hills and I've been getting 2000ms ping to Cape Town. Dunno what the hell is going on, Axxess says its Telkom, the Telkom techi says it's the exchange (it's congested... anybody ever heard of Vicks Medinight ffs?) and Telkom says... Heh?

Anyway. I like Cities XL, but it's not that in depth (and the developer seemed to be "upgrading" the base release of the game and selling it as completely "reinvented" new releases). It did have one helluva cool "roadscaping" tool, especially when you make flyovers etc. Does this game have the same? Do you think it is as in depth as SC4?

I got hooked on PC games through Simcity and Civilization. (Lost my "virginity" to them, if you will. Though the best I've ever had definitely still includes the likes of MOO2, Transport Tycoon deluxe and Pharaoh)

:)

Hoping its better than the last SimCity which was a disaster imho. Lots of eye candy but the mechanics were terrible

An hour and a half yes on Afrihost mobile :D
I have not played Cities XL so I don't know about the roadscaping but in this one it is pretty awesome.
Have not play much of SC 4 of what I can remember, but this is very nice so much stuff to observe and build and experiment with.
At the moment I am only at 3000 population and with every "checkpoint" of a certain amount of population you get new features its great.
