ClassicFM

Supurb, can we not get a recording from the radio station perhaps?
I am dying to hear it!

Hi RPM

Do you get advance notice of these type interviews?..

It would be great if we could have a dedicated section on the site/forum where these schedules can be posted early enough so that we can listen in...

I normally only find out about interviews and media after the fact which is a bit frustrating as I would really like to listen to it.

I'll even go as far as buying a portable MP3/radio player and recording shows for everyones listening pleasure...

<< Hint to Telkom: Notice how Technology can simplify life and add convenience, not Frustration >>

OMW, just as the discussion get interresting they stop it... would have LOVED to hear Nombulelo's response to that last comment from RPM.

NOMBULELO MOHOLO:: "ADSL access, and having a line that you are using for voice services as well are not the same thing "

What a blatant lie... Analogue line rental and ADSL line rental are one and the same thing overseas. I think there should be a follow up to this interview !!!

actually, time for the press ombudsman i think.
telkom are being deliberately misleading, ambiguous and dishonest about their service.

Oh right :o, I keep telling you guys how doff I am - it's strue...:D

Here is an idea, someone/everyone that has ADSL, please scan in your Tax Invoice page where it shows the detailed billing for both rentals - blackout account stuff once scanned, and we post it up somewhere for all to see that there are in fact 2 rentals that Telkomonopoly charges everyone every month...I'm serious let's do it...

Good idea :) If you have friends overseas with broadband get them to scan and send their invoices for comparison, the more providers the better!

My BTOpenworld Bill from 2002.....read it and weep, a 512 service for £29.99 a month all inclusive. BTOpenworld was my ISP. My BT bill never changed. Ipaid the same for my phone before ADSL as I did afterwards. The ADSL installation cost me £95 and included a free USB Modem.

ADSL Number:

Account Ref:

Date: 25 November 2002

Subject: BTopenworld: advance notification of payment

BTopenworld services

Internet tariff: BT HOME 500 : £29.99

Additional Services:
None

Total : £29.99

Thank you for using BTopenworld.

and now you can cry some more...they reduced the monthly fee to £19.99 the month I cancelled and moved to SA - March 2003.

Classic FM interview clip is available!

Hey everyone,

I emailed ClassicFM and they were kind enough the email me an mp3 of the entire interview. This is an interesting one because now we all have Telkom on record for side-stepping the whole line rental issue.

You can find the mp3 here:
http://www.lukev.za.net/myadsl/classicfm1.mp3

[edit] Thanks to Giulietta Talevi for supplying the mp3!

Cheers,
Luke.
