Most are completely incapable of separating their personality from their homosexuality.

The gay 'scene' isn't all that different to the straight 'scene' -- all of it is filled with remarkably similar people with the same calibre of self-absorbed egotism, small-mindedness and stupidity.

We were invited to go out with a group of (straight) people a few months ago who are very much into deafening clubs and heavy drinking, and, honestly... we just felt old. After thirty minutes or so we went home.

Give me a nice quiet candle-lit table at a restaurant and some pleasant company and I'm happy.

I can sort of understand the need for a sense of community that you identify but I've never had anything in common with most gay people I came across apart from the obvious.
