The headline is classic click bait. So yes there's always been a group of Afrikaners who are preparing for the 'end days', but it is such a small percentage of the population, it's not really worth investigating or writing a long story about.

The headline makes it sound like there is a substantial minority of the country preparing for a race war. Not even close.

How curious. A different news network (in the US) reported similarly about land expropriation in SA.

He's not talking about ''50 people''. What he is saying is that the people that would potentially do the killing here have access to weapons the perpetrators of the Rwandan genocide did not, implying that the death toll would be way worse or be reached in a shorter time frame.

The issue is not a debate on what is fake or not about it. The real issue is why does it deserve to be the main headline on CNN when you have serious problems like the situation in Yemen which other news agencies are covering today.
I know of no other major news agency that is covering the doomsayers the Suid Landers or seriously portraying them as a terrorist threat. That is just absurd.

That I can agree with, the article itself is interesting but the title is click bait. No clue why it's so prominent on the CNN page.

That's because it made news worlwide because the president of the country and the parliament agreed on amending the constitution for land expropriation without compensation . You cannot equate giving a 2006 doomsdayer group press coverage with news coverage of what the president of South Africa and its parliament decide and formally announce on changing the constitution for land expropriation without compensation which has major impact on the whole region

It's now what the president and ruling party along with the EFF anarchists intended but how that "news" outlet reported it.

You cannot call official statements by the president of the country, the ANC and the EFF (The biggest and third biggest party in South Africa) as anarchists on the left and compare them to the Suidlanders who are 50 old loosely coupled mostly poor old farmers people in the middle of nowhere that people long since forgotten about.

A more equal comparison of Left vs Right if you compare the Suidlanders on the right, would be to compare them with the Mount Zion General Assembly on the left who spray insect repellent on their followers.

You also cannot compare the ANC and EFF with an irrelevant old UK tabloid lady Katie Hopkins calling her an extreme right winger because she reported on SA farm murders.

Are you talking about the Tucker Carlson interview? If so, his substantive point in the interview was correct (about EWC). Yes the stuff about white genocide was a bit weird & wrong but his overall point was correct.

No less absurd than a modern day government using taxpayer money to pay an international company (BP) to administer a race based campaign against a portion of its citizens so they can steal more..?
 
Race war might be a bit extreme IMO. Conflicts over water however...

We came dangerously close to running out of water in Cape Town. That is something that has never occured in modern history, and would have most likely resulted in a societal collapse.

CNN had a chance to represent the real issues, but we have this. White South Africans are being painted as a bunch of Alt-Right nutbags.

There is no mention of the current land reform process either, and how the ANC has failed its people.
