As the title suggests... that's what I want to do.
I've mastered Data Analytics and basic software development (quick tools and stuff) in a fairly short time. Naturally, I am now seriously bored with it.

Now, as I'm looking for a new career path, this thought struck me...
I love 3D modeling & animation, and I love programming. So, I'm looking towards coding plugins for 3D apps, or something in that line. It should give me the mathematical stimulation that my current job lacks.

Can anyone shine some light on this? I know nothing about programming when it comes to 3D applications.

You could also look for something in the GIS (Geographic Information Systems) field. Maybe not as much 3D but lots of math & possibly a more realistic choice than game dev in ZA.

I would write 3dmax/viz plugns for design visualisations specific to building standards in South Africa, or something specialised like that.

The only option is to write them for GIMP and Blender. As we don't get paid in $$$, most small companies in SA can't afford 3D Max, Maya and Photoshop with all their super expensive plugins.

But you did give me a great idea. Next to me is a model for software that will change how we work with data, and face it... if you've seen how some of the systems in our country looks... it's a wonder some companies stay floating.

I think that for starters, while I'm testing the water in MaxScript and GIS, I'll build a presentation on my idea and find an investor.
