Hi all,

I have a BenQ T2200HD which comes on, then after 2 / 3 seconds turns off.

What could be the problem?

Is it repairable?

I have 2 - so I'd hate to replace it because I'd sit with a odd one again - I'm hoping it's repairable.

Best would be to take it into a local repair shop for a quote. If its bad caps and the repair guys know what they are doing it should be easy enough to repair.

2 second to off syndrome - typical for monitors with CCFL backlit.
Most likely one CCFL backlit tube is blown and takes to much current triggering protection, but second cause could be a faulty high tension transformer. Repairable, but there are difficulties in getting parts. Checking for bulged capacitors is always worth to try.

Does anyone know where in Cape Town I can take the monitor to be repaired? I see CRT basically doesn't exist anymore - no numbers work for them.

if you dont come right in finding a place, send me a pm.. if it is only bad caps i would be happy to replace them for you.. have done a few tvs and pc monitors already..

There is a company in Pinelands that we take all our faulty monitors, laptops, printers and even tv's. Company's name is Mosfet Computers.
Millside Park

Pinelands
tel: 021 531 7627

And they work down to board-level.
