Comet ISON to be visible late 2013

I don't mind though as there are paragraphs, in the past i think i was guilty of just having wall of text with no paragraphs but even cleaning up my posting people still say my posts are too long, i don't mind double posting like i said if people think i have been on this forum for a decade for post count that is their issue, i could have over 100k posts if i really cared about that shyte. Then i could make threads every time i hit a milestone, like 1000 5000 10000 20000 30000 40000 all the way up haha. I really would not care if the mods said my posts were 20 as long as the date is there it's chilled. I don't mind your long posts.

Glad to see we can communicate properly, believe it or not i do like engaging with you and i think it is going well, glad to see porch . Porch just an example, egypt israel and jordan suck about 4 billion a year from the US(please i have not stated the exact figure to the cent, thumb suck). They destroyed or are busy destroying 7 billion worth of military equipment in afghanistan because it was too expensive to bring home, so i assume that is 7 billion they will now need to replace said items. Then they shut down a 14 bar system , so sad and there is no system in place as far as i know. They can track 60% of the objects now if i am not mistaken. Not a major issue, why i am making a big issue out of it is because people have lost their jobs and it cost 14 bar to run a year something truly special. To me i don't see the sense. How much will cost to launch satellites if they get destroyed due to untracked(looks wrong but anyhoo) objects?

Anyways if you think saving 14 million while destroying billions worth of military equipment in afghanistan seems logical that is fine, each to their own, so 7 billion military equipment destroyed, 7 billion spent replacing said equipment 14 billion in total that is just one case i can think of. Just that one incident could run the system for the next 50+ years, assuming the price per year goes up but i could be way out haha.

Anyways moving on from the space net thing that has upset me, mostly due to being able to cut billions elsewhere and losing deep impact also got me a little sad.

Anyways back to ison i understand you think 14 million is saving money and you understand i think 14 million is chump change for the US considering how amazing the system is. So i got you, you got me. Nothing irrational about either comments. We can say they shut down the space net on the 15th of sept, that way we meet each other half way but it does look like the 1st sept i won't lie.

Ison... almost finished work then i will check for some updates. I did hear ison could speed up tremendously when it hits the frost line if it is indeed a dirty snowball(no conspiracy claimed nor am i stating that nasa are lying without a doubt) So just to avoid irrational comments or under the table conspiracy remarks.

Porch link me to those nasa ison images please. As mentioned we can have a lekka debate and we can both learn new things along the way. When i say new as in you never knew about mcnaught, not redefining everything we know. I know i can learn much more but i also think the human race in general has more to discover as history has proven.

I just get annoyed when I have to read unsubstantiated conspiracy theory stuff. I don't like dealing with irrationality. As long as that can be avoided I can communicate fine. As I said they apparently retooled existing infrastructure to perform the same task space fence was performing.

The experts are confident that without space fence they can still prevent collisions. You arguing you know better? If so back that claim up. Until then I'm siding with those that have dedicated their entire careers to the management and implementation of these sorts of systems.

Agreed, the US government should certainly be cutting even more unneeded projects elsewhere. I'm all for governments saving money. The US now needs to save even more money. I'm certainly not going to start attacking them for saving money on something by saying that they could have saved more by cutting something else. Save more money by cutting something else you say? Great! Cut them BOTH! Don't say "please don't cut this one because I think it is cool, even if it is redundant and an adequate job can be done by other existing, cheaper infrastructure". That is whacky-time.

They need to cut 14 billion somewhere not 14 million. It's chilled we both get each others point. You seem to think NASA should want to do nothing but snap pics of this one object and then clean up and release every single image. The comet is on track and sure they are watching it but just check out the NASA website to see how much other stuff they are up to, all rather interesting.

Your first claim was there were no pictures of ISON, claims of a conspiracy, asking what NASA was hiding. You were shown pictures.

Then you claimed those pictures were not "nice" enough (again hints of conspiracy). It was explained that the object was far away, tiny, new, and moving very fast.

Now you've changed your story to there not being any new pictures. I'm sure you think that is also indication of some sort of conspiracy. This is getting ridiculous.

Go look at some of the pictures nasa is able to obtain, nice is not a dot in the sky. There is no excuse from the 30th of sept 2013. Spectacular pictures should be easily obtained.

You are right. Lots of conspiracies involve grainy photographs. I regard them all with equal s scepticism.

When that "dot" is travelling fast, is new, is tiny and is very far away that "dot" is a wonderful image. It is unreasonable of you to expect "nice" photos under those conditions. Hubble couldn't take "nice" photos of Pluto for similar reasons. Doesn't mean there is a Pluto conspiracy.

When did I say there were more pics? There could be but NASA certainly isn't obligated to release all of them. Most organisation will just show the best ones and only provide the raw stuff when asked to by other researchers. That is what I do when I do research. In my limited experience I normally have about 100x more images than those that finally end up in a thesis or presentation.

Probably because it is on track but the comet has yet to go through an amazing transformation as yet (just more of the same until it gets close enough, which is only doing in the next few weeks). That coupled with NASA having the responsibility of watching many other objects in our universe that all take up resource time. Seriously when last did you see NASA track something exclusively and consistently with picture upon picture for months? I can't recall a single incident. I don't know why suddenly them doing exactly what they always do with these sorts of things suddenly becomes a conspiracy. Oh wait... I do know... it isn't based on anything rational, it is based on stringing together disparate pieces of information with a whole lot of wild speculation and then drawing a spurious conclusion from that.

EDIT: actually might have been even further out as I think it was only passing Jupiter recently, like mid September or late August. You'd need to check.

Could you at least admit that what I'm saying is a perfectly reasonable and rational explanation without the need for crazy conspiracy theories. Instead of just changing tack instantly and not acknowledging or addressing the points being made.

I never changed tact, i just see you mention nasa are not obligated to release pictures. I never disagreed with anything or wanted to argue a point i just asked if you saw the june photo and how far away it was compared to where it is now.

They are not obligated to release photos but they did in june, stunning photo as well. Sad if they are taking pictures and not releasing them regardless of the object in question. With deep impact down it was suppose to be the ison source for photos, so perhaps we have nothing but amateurs left. Nasa perhaps don't have anything to capture amazing pictures of ison, could be an orbit related issue so let's put the lack of stunning pictures down to deep impacts death and orbital issues with Hubble. Please don't take orbital issues the wrong way

Maybe i will get surprise on oct 1st, rather expect nothing that way i can't be disappointed
