Compatible Ram

I have an Acer P2510 with 4GB Ram, want to upgrade the ram, as I understand the 4GB currently in it is soldered on.

There is a slot for additional dim, would this work or must it be the exact same ram currently in the laptop?

I see the motherboard determines the speed and will always choose the slowest so 2400.

If you can't see the specs/label for the existing RAM, take it out and check it.. buy RAM according to the spec of the existing RAM.. crucial importance is the voltage, as SO-DIMMs come in two voltages and you do not want to mix them up..
