Compensation for down time. Fair?

Even if your line is "with Afrihost" it's with Telkom. All Afrihost do is deal with Telkom on your behalf, because it's your line and your contract with Telkom, not theirs.

But, as I understand it, Afrihost do not automatically pass on the "refund" and you cannot deal directly with Telkom for the ADSL refund as you have no contract with Telkom. They do not know your name (for ADSL). In that case you can only apply to Telkom for a refund on your POTS line rental.
