Something I have noticed in a few woman that I have known is that they are attracted to damaged men. (I'm not referring to all woman, just the ones that I have known that were/are like this)

They will attach themselves to men that have some serious issues, sometimes these men can be abusive.

The reason why they like these men is unclear to me and I won't say that my assumptions are correct, for they are just that, assumptions. So I will leave them out.

But I do notice a pattern in these men, they are the stereotypical alpha male type. They are aggressive, the type of men that will beat another guy up (almost to death) just because he accidentally nudged his girlfriend at a bar. Their egos are huge and they have extreme issues with their sexuality.

I meet these type of men whenever I go out to bars. I have managed to evade conflict with them so far, but I'm not sure if my luck will last. Many times they have tried to pick fights with me, especially in the queues for the toilets. I have long hair, to them this makes me a "faggot" (No offence to the gay guys here, thats just what they call me, hence the quotation) to them other men should not have long hair, I get out of it by telling them I'm a metal head and the hair is for head-banging (which is true, but I its not why I choose to have it).

I'm sure everyone here knows the exact kind of guy I'm talking about now, a classic jock.

And these are the men that I find woman seem to like, I can't understand why...

So in response to the quote, those men, your x's were probably similar to this? Okay, I described just 1 type of troubled man and we all know there are many, many more. But most of these are ego problems, or at least thats my perception of it. I hold no illusions, I could be wrong.

But in the end I think men are more logical, relative to woman of course. Note more and relative... I did not say men ARE logical, they just tend to be more so then woman. Although this depends on which man you are comparing to which woman.

On another note, I have seen mention of men conforming to the societal standards and how its damaging. I could not agree more. It pains me to see how many men hold onto the misconception that somehow emotions are bad and must be bottled up, I find from personal experience (not myself) that they just end up exploding at a point and when they do. Danger.

I don't like to see all this "men are this way, woman are that" though. It is a generalisation and an unfair one to make, not all people of one gender are the same. Just today a woman told me that all men are egotistical bastards, yet I don't have an ego, not in the way she is saying all men do. And therefore her point is moot. I am a man and don't conform to her observation therefore she is wrong. Certainly the specific men she has been hurt by may conform, so to be fair she should not use such broad terms.

The type of men you're referring to are the "Outlaw Bikers" described by the Ladder Theory, and the women in relationships with them are behaving exactly as the Theory predicts.

While Mila is clearly taking you all on a merry troll rollercoaster ride of frustration I do agree with this last sentence. Violence is just not cool. I mean I'll defend myself if I have to but these idiots that go out looking for fights... I will just never understand.

Agreed, I have a name for the guys that fall into this class. I call them the link. Science looks them over because they have always assumed that the missing link will be found in the ground, next to primitive stone tools. :D
