Hi Guys,

I'm really keen to buy computer parts (GPU, CPU etc; ) and gadgets (phones, tablets) from ebay[.]com and was just wondering if any of you have tried this before and what your experience was like.

I am mainly worried about the shipping from the buyer to me in Johannesburg and that the item will get lost or stolen. I would really appreciate your advice and experiences.

Not keen on buying local?

I would rather buy locally but there are just some items which are cheaper when sourced via ebay (exl shipping) as well as the fact that some items are not released in SA. I find local is better as one can receive support if needed and shipping times are really quick :D

I wouldn't risk it because I'd prefer to keep my warranty.

Be careful - you might get hit with one hell of an import tax bill. I've bought RAM, an SSD and my current laptop on eBay (the latter two because I couldn't find what I wanted locally). Just ensure that the seller ships the items with a tracking option.

Yeah customs can be a pain so make sure you select the tracking option with checking out, also with Ebay try and pay with a paypal account that way its easier to request a refund if your goods gets lost. I bought a few goods from supatronics.com thankfully nothing got lost so far but they also offer paypal as payment.
This the fourth marketing post I have spotted out of your 6 posts so far. Please note that I have reported you to the mods.
