Haha. Thaught so but was just pushing my luck. So any of you guys got tickets yet? and how much they cost you?
 
I thought there was no soccer in Iraq coz them players died in the war?

I'm going to the Opening game and Spain vs SA in Bloem.

I couldnt believe it when I heard it. Apparently they don't even have a league. Well done anyway. I am not trying to make a sick joke at all, but imagine USA vs Iraq...from a political view, that would be interesting.

I think this match has already been played recently. Not sure which competition, but will try find the result for you.

My bad - it wasnt the USA but was australia.

Hmmm, i think the prices are okay. But from between R210 to R1400 for tickets to the final of a confederations cup, i am more interested in knowing what the prices will be like for the actual world cup.
 
well how do the confed cup prices compare to germany's confed? Maybe that will give an idea.
On the side; aren't SA vs Lions tickets reported at R1000? Quite steep for rugby...maybe what the WC will be around, as this is africa where the people who they need to also cater for can't afford R4000 a ticket.
 
i dont get this obsession with tickets needing to be cheap for the poor. if you're poor you do what the other 4 million did in Germany. you go to a fan park, public viewing site and go home and spend your money on food.

category 4 tickets are great and i support lower ticket prices but being part of the world cup can be amazing without watching a match at a stadium.
 
Maybe some of the poor people have dreamt of seeing the likes of Torres and Gerrard live in action. But hey your right, let the poor folks watch them on a screen outside the stadium while the wealthy people, who most of them dont even give a toss about the beautiful game get to sit in VIP boxes where they can impress their friends and take nice pictures:)
I hope the LOC continue to cater for the poor when the World Cup starts.

i dont see how a world cup match is more important than their livelihoods. they should be using the social grant on things they need. south africans simply need to be involved. inside a stadium is a luxury. outside the stadium is where the parties and atmosphere ensure the world cup is more than 90 minutes.

Well said!

It is like this thoughout the world! Sometimes the atmosphere is just as good at these public fan parks. It's not like everyone who wants a ticket to any game can get one.

Reducing ticket prices to the level where literally everyone could afford to go, would not help at all.
 
Screw the atmosphere. This will probably be my only chance to see my heroes live in action. Maybe im selfish but id rather go to a stadium alone if i had to, than share the carnival atmoshere thats in the fan parks. Besides you can always join the guys outside after the match:)
I think its only fair that all South Africans get a chance to buy a ticket. Even if its only 'Category 10' tickets hey:)
 
I applied for tickets for the italia vs brazil game. I did it through the fifa website. Was told it would take 4-5 days for them to let me know whether I got it.
