I have recently been having connection problems with my ADSL line. I have a netgear modem/router and the internet link goes from green(connected) to blank and then flashes orange(trying to connect) and then connects. Now, I checked with telkom and they say that they have seen my line drop/disconnect a few times over the past week. Now, what I want to know is, is this a telkom line fault or a problem with my ISP???
Telkom have offered to come out, but then said that if they think the fault is with my modem/router then I will have to pay a call out fee. Now I know how pathetic their technicians are, from my prior dealings with them, so I know they are going to blame the modem/router. So what choice do i have??
Any ideas guys??

when have you been having these probs and what's your location?

I had some probs this morning but seems to be OK now - Pretoria. Thought it might be related

i had no problems with my connection. try to turn off and turn on the router several times, it works with me when i have no connection.

It is a Telkom line problem - the line appears to be dropping sync. Log the fault with Telkom and get a fault reference.

did that .... but still nothing ... do u think I should get a "techie" out??

A Telkom tech would be a good idea, to test your line and try to find where the dodgy bit/connection is. They have those fancy testers that can tell them how many metres away a fault is, and the signal stength over the length of the line ( graphical pic of line ).
