Wanted to try the prepaid 1gb pm bundle but was told they dont have it anymore so now Looking at the SmartInternet 1gb R119 pm or 2.5GB R159 pm with a Huawei E5372 mifi LTE modem, but was thinking of getting just a Prepaid sim 1st and Test the waters with my old E5331 3G mifi device i got from afrihost. Would Telkom work on it though and same for the LTE mifi would a MTN sim and LTE work or does Telkom use a different Range ?

Telkom will work with your AH mifi device, they have use a different LTE band though

Best is to get a prepaid sim and try it for peace of mind.

The Telkom LTE device is a HUAWEI E5372 (I have one), and so is the Afrihost one.
It should work without a hassle.
Also remember, depending on the Telkom Mobile deal you take, you can roam on the MTN network, which works from the E5372 device.

You could always try out that R149 2 +1 gig bundle to see how it goes.

If youre struggling with a dongle, but have an old phone pop the sim into that and leave it on charge with the Hotspot on. Works quite well.

Doesn't unused data expire after 30 days if not mistaken. I am with axxess at the moment wouldn't mind paying extra for a few gigs extra on condition I don't forfeit unused data. With axxess you've peace of mind unused data gets extended by 3 months. Now they changing prices soon.

Will try that but for some reason they said only 512 mb available..
