Console pricing comparison

Now all that needs to be done is a VALUE FOR MONEY survey and comparison to complete the picture!
 
Would be nice if the article expanded the comparison with game prices too.

I need to upgrade from a PS2 and the cost of games is the deciding factor (original reason why I went PS2 and not Wii at the time of purchase 2yrs back)
 
I bought my Xbox 360 120gig for R2499.00 on special last month at Incredible Connection
 
Well im looking at getting a next gen console in the next 3 months, hopefully the prices would have come down just a tad, I will be looking out for a similar special as dboy mentioned.
 
The xbox arcade deal at Look & Listen for R2000 is good deal. I didn't realise you could pick them up this cheaply.
 
I got my fat PS3 80 gig at ToysRUs for R2499 with a free game.

Apparently Woolworths actually are selling consoles the "cheapest" since they are giving away free vouchers with them.
 
If you trade-in any old console @Incredible Connection then you can get an XBox360 Elite 120gb + 2 games for R2699 :D
 
Well this is all a load of bull Amazon.co.uk is selling the WII black edition for R2000 and the Black remote with motion plus for about R460.00

I don't know guys but I feel as if we getting ripped here as usual

Can some1 explain whats the difference btwn the xbox arcade and the elite 250gb? coz just adding a freakin 250gig hardrive at 2k more than the arcade is ridiculous! only a fool would go for it!

Go ahead then. After import duties and shipping costs you'll pay about the same even if you import it.

you ansered your question a 250gig ard drive.
considering pricing the 120GIG hard drive is R1600 it works out cheapr to buy it with a hard drive.
however if like me you coulnt afford it the arcade is prety decent it comes with on board memory (or memory card depending on how old the model is) if 256MB or 512MB which is decent enogh for saving games, but the hard drive you can save the entire game to HDD and it loads up faster.

I bought a brand new Xbox arcade 2 years ago for R1000 from hi-fi corp. Sold it for R1400 6months later :)
 
Locally, all the 250Gig Xbox Elites come with Forza 3 bundled. So for R2000 more you getting a 250gig hard drive + a game that's worth R700 + a headset + a network cable.
