I'm not saying your PC doesn't have USB 2.0 ports, I am saying that if it is not supplying enough power on its USB ports you can try adding a USB 2.0 card instead of replacing your PC.
There are two issues mixed together in this issue. One is a Cell C internet disconnection problem, the other is a modem disconnecting or "un-detecting" from the USB port problem. Even with my E1820 plugged in directly into my TP-MR3420, at random I would lose the connection and the router would show "identifying" for the modem. Then after a while it would show "E1820" and the signal strength and only then does it try to connect (to Cell C internet) again.
Ya, I think you're right, and possibly a third issue as well, the 'still connected but only able to access Cell-C website' issue. Unless one actually tries going to www.cellc.co.za one would just assume one's been disconnected since all other connections just time out. There are two issues mixed together in this issue. My Cell C internet works fine, can keep it on for days if so
Location in Durban -65 dBm at the moment
reset your gear?
Well inserting another provider's sim and then the modem works perfectly kind of makes the issue clear. It is the provider, meaning Cell C.
Guys I am assuming they are busy upgrading certain base stations with firmware probably on 18 January couldn't use cell c practically for over 12 hours or so, now cell c works all over my house where ever I go. getting around -55 dbi to -66 dbi
