I'm in the Fourways area (Norscot to be specific) and have had erratic connection problems all weekend, today has been pathetic as although I can connect to the network emailing and browsing is useless as the CellC dashboard show data on the upload but nothing on the download, connections seldom last more than 30 secs. Have had to revert back to my EmptyN stick just to get work done, I really hope this is temporary, come on CellC, the purpose of switching over to you guys was so that I could dump my EmptyN contract in March, very disappointed

No whoosh

Looks like my belief and support for CellC's new Whooosh has been a little premature... for the last week+ I constantly get disconnected. This evening... it connects... 20 seconds... disconnects... and then often won't connect all... hangs on 'authenticating' and then when connected there is 0-zilch-nada data movement... so even when I connected I still disconnected... in fact the connection has dropped again... which means I'll probably battle my ass for to post my 'bitch & moan' post... VC is slower(and more expensive), but at least their system is stable, has enough capacity and works! Come on CellC fix it, you took my R1500 happily and now give me s%^# service! At this rate it will be impossible to use my 2GB a month!

Oh connection is: WCDMA
Signal: -91dBm

Area: Brackenfell - Morgenster Heights:

Present state: Pi$$ed Off! (oh look it disconnected yet again!)

And we hanging again... authenticating... oh now connected... hope this works... it failed again... next attempt...

Cell C is seriously starting to suck

So I've hardly been able to use Cell C today, the constant disconnects make it impossible, seems a bit more stable tonight but I've been monitoring my connection in MDMA running between -89, -91 dBm, connects on 3G, ramps to HSUPA, drops to HSPA+, then jumps up and down between 3G and HSPA+, occasionally signal seems to disappear altogether the jumps back to 3G and although it looks like it's still connected there's no data flow, if I do a page refresh if I'm lucky it jumps back to HSPA+ (read something in a different thread that this is standard Cell C behaviour??)

below is my latest result from speedtest, very different to what I experienced a month ago when I got my stick, where I had downloads at up to 7Mb/s

If this is what I can expect from Cell C then it's an epic fail, I seriously hope this is teething problems.

Connection has now stayed stable for 10 minutes, the longest period so far today, just did another speedtest, slightly better.

Sunningdale and Pinetown in KZN and having the same issues. It disconnects often. Sometimes it stays connected but the connection dies and no data is transferred. They need to undo any network changes they made in the last few days cause they have broken something...
