Constant disconnects

Still having disconnects in Umhlanga this morning, it's a pain, I cannot Skype at all, and the internet is very spotty.

But the router show HSPA+, so the problem is not from the local tower.
 
Same down north beach - last night was barely usable....connect open 1 web page fine...go to another & need to disconnect/reconnect

Hi ppl

I have the same problem in CPT. Tested SIM with another modem, same problem.

Logged a call with Cell C on Friday, they said it's something on the network, but they cannot get hold of any network technicians...

Called again on Monday, call was closed, they updated my settings (not sure what settings, but mkay) - still same issue. Asked lady to re-open the case yesterday.

Today, still same problem. Went to telltrevor.co.za logged a complaint with this thread included.

Hopefully they will assist us.

Will update if they reply.

Well my problem seems to have got fixed with a ph call.
Once thru to tech support they reckon the sim never had the apn provisioned at their end - i don't understand what the hell they talking about but whatever they did fixed my end.
I wasn't disconnecting - i had to dissconnect/reconnect over & over otherwise pages wouldn't load after the 1st one that loaded......Rssi -65dBm the whole time.
My APN in the dash has always been "internet" but the guy seemed to be saying not that APN so what he was talking about i have no idea.

I'm having issues today with disconnects, Durban central. First time I'm experiencing this, hopefully normality resumes soon rather than having to phone tech support.

Same sim that i've had since day1 with the promo stick - This is a new problem i've never seen before,pretty sure its network related.....thought it was fixed earlier but its back doing similar again.

You'll be glad to know that I've been stuck on EDGE for the last two days. No WHOOOSH for me.

This morning my connection was fine (Hatfield PTA), but now there seems to be something seriously wrong, no data transfer, timeouts etc. Basically internet is totally unusable.
RSSI -75.
 
Issue in Cape Town Durbanville last few days with disconnects and less than 200kb/s upload??? Signal drops from 99% to 30% and less???:mad:

Umhlanga seems to be OK again, no disconnects this evening (touch wood) !

This is through a Huawei E585 modem/router.

Damn I have the same constant disconnects going on with my cell c dongle. Driving me nuts!
 
If you're using your dongle with a router, and it disconnects, it may be worth a try plugging into a pc to check that it's not the router. My router at random tells me my dongle (that is plugged in directly without an extension cable) is "unplugged" :(
