Consumers speak out for Telecoms change

lol today is the 19th of Jan...

I would have preferred a more graphical ad but at least it's out there now.....

arg. hoekom verkoop die griek net ou koerante !!!!!!!!!!

get another one then :P

Don't throw away the ad!

Folks once you'vre bought your copy of the M&G don't throw it away with the ad when you're finished with it. Cut out the ad and post it to the president's office:
The Office of the President
Private Bag X1000
PRETORIA
0001

There's only so much information you can fit in a page that people would actually read through. Hopefully the add encourages people to find out more and that will lead them here. The link to MyADSL is at the bottom of the page.

Short and to the point is better than a two-page diatribe. How many lengthy newspaper and magazine articles have been written giving all the facts for years now, only to have Telkom spout the same rhetoric in answer to them? This is different, to the point, and Telkom doesn't get to have a say in it.

My company's name is in small print on there :D yay!!!
pity i cant see it.. I could make the seniors here smile...:o

we need a bigger better higher quality jpg for emailing, someone make a plan

Yeah it's not very forwardable... u can't read the instructions at the bottom... (unless this was the intention, therefore forcing people to buy the M&G today?)

It's spilt milk, but I would have expected a more eye catching advert... perhaps even borrowing Hellkom's logo...

Where does one buy the M&G?

I'm sure we all would have loved the Hellkom logo. Perhaps people will see this as an Anti Telkom campain, where the problem is probably much wider that just that.

I found mine at the little spar near my office - so they should all stock it.
Yep, the Spar I went to has today's edition of M&G, that's after I went to the Pick 'n Pay in Douglasdale which only had last week's edition, which I nearly bought until I looked at the date on the thing.

To Proudly South African

I sent this email to Proudly South African, I do not exspect anything to happen, but I do want them to feel the pressure too......

Paul
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
How is it possible that a company like Telkom, can be a member of the Proudly South African Campaign?

The artice in today's Mail and Guardian, clearly indicate that they can not possibly be Proudly South African!!

Look how many people were layed off! Look at the way they hamper the growth in South Africa!!

How can they be a member of the Proudly South African Campaign? This whole thing places a question mark over the whole idea of being Proudly South African!!

In the same breath, the same goes for South African Airways and Eskom....

Surely you can not be proud to be funded by Telkom!!

Please let us know if you receive any feedback. We all should get involved in this cause too.

I cant say that money was well spent. I dont feel any more or any less upset about the telecom situation. How are the people involved going to measure how effective the campaign was?

Well Done

Today, as a South African in the UK reading the advert online, I must say one thing to all of you back home:

I'm very proud of what all of you are doing to try and change the situation back there. I'm proud to see my fellow countrymen/women stand up for what is fair, just and common sense to the ordinary south african.

It's not right to not be free to go online and worry about the cost and how much information you can download. Internet access should be like switching on the TV - It should just be "there" and running 24hrs a day without a care.

..Oh yeah, TELKOM ! please stop capping South Africans at 3GB - that's just rediculous - I have a 50GB cap and I pay less than a third of your cheapest ADSL offering ( and the UK isn't even the cheapest Broadband country )

Also, in the UK it is now cheaper to have Broadband than Dial-Up ( Imagine that in SA!!!!! ) - a 32" high definition TV costs about the same as a 51cm TV in South Africa. Hello SABC/MNET/Mutichoice!! Ever heard of HD ?????? You must try it - it will blow your mind away !!:D

Something just aint right and all fingers point to those at the Top. Come on Thabo and Co. - There are thousands of expats like me ready to pack our suitcases and come back home ( I'm coming back anyway ), but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE get your act together for the sake of ALL South Africans and those wishing to return to their beloved country.

I still have hope !;)

Thanks !:D

A BIG Hellkom watermark logo would have been great. :D :D
