**** Continual Telkom Adsl Problems Complaint *****

Hi - Is this the right palce to post the following.


Hi Telkom

I have continual problems with dropped ADSL signals over the last 2 months. The line may work for some time and then drop. I currently have NO ADSL connection.

I have logged at least 10 faults.

You send technicians and no one fixes the problem, they just replace a point or disconnect something, without solving the problem.

I am very upset about this.

Please help.

I feel your pain. I have the same issue. Its an revolving 6 month issue. Telkom just say they did not change anything. But after 3 Tech they somehow resolves the issue and its sorted.

An update:

At least I received some response from Eskom in Cape Town - where 2 gentlemen contacted me.

It is very dissapointing that the latter gentleman stated a technician would arrive yesterday - AND OF COURSE NO ONE DID ARRIVE.

SO MY ADSL LINE IS STILL DOWN from Saturday after MULTIPLE call outs for 2 months and NO skilled technician who can correct the problem one and for all.

Good luck on the allocated technician.

Apparently the longer a fault is pending without being repaired the harder it is becomes to get a tech who is prepared to do their work. Apparently the tech to which the fault was dispatched will first check when the fault was reported and who has been dispatched previously, if he sees that the fault has a long history of tech dispatched but was not fixed he or she automatically assume that the fault is difficult and will make means to avoid going to the fault until the fault is removed on his name or someone higher up forces them to do the fault, the cycle will continue until a good Tech commits to do the fault.

Hope yours is allocated to a good tech who take it up with the urgency it deserves.

Noise has been an intermittent problem since the continual intermittent line drop problem started 2 months ago.

At one time, the line had no drops or noise for 3 days in a row.

But pretty much every week for the last 2 months, I have been logging faults due to intermittent line drops.

I have 2 different modems and both have same problem. I was told to replace all my line filters - which I did.

The technicians come and replace a jack or disconnect a phone just to say they have solved the problem and leave. Absolute rubbish.

PLEASE TELKOM - send a SKILLED technician and solve the problem once and for all.

Update: STILL WAITING FOR A TECHNICIAN

WHEN WILL THIS BE FIXED??????
