Hi, having problem with a movie file that has picture, but audio not supported. Any conversion programs that one can use to get it into a playable format?

Just download the latest codecs and it will be sorted.

Google k-lite

For conversion try FormatFactory, and convert to mp4.
Free program.

Would take hours though. He should just update the codecs and he'll be golden.

Assuming it's for windows. If it's for a Blu-ray player or something then yes, I agree.

VLC can play MKVs out of the box. Matryoshka is a great file format if you're looking to save on file size but retain decent quality. I wouldn't change it, personally.

Thanks, have problem playing on Blu-ray, not on computer. Have tried Vlc convert as well, but very slow. Found some other software, but not free...

Frustrating as most mkv works on the DVD player, except some that have the audio codec problem.

Audio format is DTS, BR player/TV doesnt support DTS I know that feel.

I use <forgot name of program (MKV Somthing)> worked like a charm.

It's pretty good, though limited- but converts files to an Apple-friendly format.

Doesn't necessarily have to be apple friendly - though I suppose it wont hurt - just as long as it's Roku/Plex friendly :)
