Hi

We are changing over from Quickbooks to Pastel Partner. Would like to know if there is any conversion utility available so we can just "carry" over. Or how does one go about this...?
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Ed

as far as i know there isnt a easy way of doing this.

we as accountants work on pastel, and some of our clients are using quickbooks.

we have also looked around for a solution but cant find anything.

best way will be to start pastel on 1 march 2013, and then stop using quickbooks on that date.
use a jounal to introduce the opening balances in a prior year journal into pastel.

you wont have a history but you will have at least have comparitive yearly amounts.

ps - if you know pastel well enough you should know that you can import csv data.
so if you can export some of the quickbooks data - then sort it in excel - then save it as a csv file - you might save some time with creating customers/supliers accounts. might not work, but if you play around with it you might find something that will help you.

I agree that you should start off the new financial year with pastel....and just enter the opening balances...

Otherwise, contact pastel and ask them...

You also dont want to import data and possible start off with a problematic pastel company either..

I thought that most people were moving from Pastel to Quickbooks, not the way around.
