I know this is not exactly an ADSL question, but I've searched all over the net and can't find a solution, so I'm hoping someone here can help me.

I've downloaded a .flv file from streamhoster.com. I can play it on my PC using adobe, but I would like to convert it to divx/xvid so that I can watch it on my DVD player.

Usually SUPER is quite good at converting anything you through at it, but this time conversion appear to be successful, but the resulting file is a short 10 second video displaying the following message:
Could not open as video or audio.
Video returned: "DifectShowSource: couldn't open file filename.flv: Pins cannot connect due to not suporting the same transport."
Audio redurned: "DifectShowSource: couldn't open file filename.flv: Pins cannot connect due to not suporting the same transport."

I also tried installing several codecs that supposedly capable of decoding flv using directshow and also a couple of conversion programs with no luck. Has anyone here successfully converted a flv file from streamhoster who can help me?

Thanks

Ok, tried Any Video Converter. It converted successfully, but the resulting file play only the first minute normally, then the next 11 seconds flashes through the entire remaining video. So a 26 minute clip end up being only 1:11 long.

Arista is Linux, I don't feel like diving into that right now, maybe if all else fail.

I'm now downloading FormatFactory, going to give that a try. Any other suggestions?

THANKS guys, Format Factory did the trick. Nice app, using both CPU cores making conversion just that tad quicker.
