Cool ideas vs Afrihost

hellopeter is not a reputable site anymore, they got bought out a couple years ago and hardly anyone uses them anymore they charge quite a bit to be on their site... use the forums as a means of comparing, you generally have people who know what they talking about on here, if you look on facebook and other sites you will see people completely destroying ISP's when in fact the FNO is the issue i see a lot it in my area since people think Vumatel or Octotel is an ISP...
This, and it's even in the lingo of speech these days.

"I'm gonna complain on HelloPeter!"

rather than

"I'm gonna leave a thoughtful review on Google / MyBroadband / Carb" etc.

It didn't work out like TrustPilot does in the UK sadly

This is via Frogfoot Port Elizabeth / Cool Ideas , 1st hop is 17ms , would been better if someone done plots on the same FNO .

Im moving from Afrihost to Cool ideas. At afrihost with Vumatel my Download speed is 385 mbps while i am paying for 1000 mbps and my latency 33 ms for local, so many tickets logged and Afrihost never seem to resolve the issue and if I pay for a Lamborghini, I dont want a Golf R lol. Anyway i know Vumatel is at fault but Afrihost is not pushing for service from Vumatel so hopefully CISP will.

Hi,

I'm sorry for the poor speeds you are getting.

Can you send me you clientzone email via a pm for me to investigate.

Any Lambo in South Africa won't be 10km down the road without hitting a pot hole. You need a Cortina XR6 with fatties.

Afrihost. So far very good. A bonus is the Afrihost rep on MyBB, he is very responsive.
Responsive without accountability means nothing. Afrihost has immediate support via whatsapp but they just pass the responsibility onto someone else. I would rather have someone take 8 hours and take full responsibility than Afrihost's copy and paste responses of will get a response in 24 to 48 hours but then it never happens.

We definitely try to resolve every query we get via the first encounter however sometimes it's just not possible. With FTTH, DSL and consumer LTE the SLA and Escalation matrix makes it difficult to get immediate solutions and thus this first contact is for identifying the issue and logging a fault if required.

Sorry if you experienced slow or prolonged issues it's definitely not what we aim for.

I don't mind that, but you can't identify the most basic of workflow issues. Endless chats wasting agents time waiting for one person to take accountability.

I order fibre and I am waiting for a week for Afrihost to deliver the router I paid delivery for. I wait daily at home expecting the delivery. Your delivery company fails to answer me or contact me as I didn't arrange it, but Afrihost did. Afrihost make false promises of you'll get it in 24-48 hours which doesn't happen and fails to take accountability. I am stuck in a twilight zone of unaccountability.

This forced me to try to get to the truth as the original delivery details from Afrihost which I in turn can forward to the delivery company asking why they don't deliver, verify what address do they deliver to, what phone number are they phoning, or get a refund when it isn't in the required period, but Afrihost just drag their feet. It's a piece of paper. Give me a copy. It's simple. I don't have a choice as you take zero responsibility. Every other delivery company in SA has no problem delivering to me but Afrihost chooses the most expensive, unresponsive, and unreliable delivery company in South Africa to deliver.

Can you send me the details via a pm. I want to investigate what went wrong here. All routers are couriered with overnight express service which shouldn't take more than 3 days at most.

Your presence here only reason i would recommend afrihost to people who can't afford cool ideas

I have Pmd you the order number

I think most FNO's are reaching the point of network stability now, except perhaps Frogfoot?

I do find the bigger ISP's, like Afrihost, tend to have less "flaps" on their network as opposed to other smaller unnamed ones.
